Dr. Ahn is a senior research scientist at the Advanced Analysis Center. The center focuses on the fundamental advances in our understanding of the complex chemical, physical and biological properties that govern the behavior of natural and engineered systems. Major R&D activities of the center are to address critical challenges in the field of nanomaterial sciences, biosciences, and environmental sciences. Major interest of Dr. Ahn is structure determination of macromolecules such as proteins, DNA, RNA, and their complexes at atomic resolution (Å) to gain the fundamental insight into the functions in biological systems. Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy should be mainly employed to address those questions with other techniques including molecular biology and bioinformatics.
