Dr. Chun joined the KIST in 1996 as the senior research scientist and is currently supervising the Complex Fluids Research Laboratory of the Environments and Process Division as the principal research scientist. He received his PhD degree in the microflow of polyelectrolyte complex fluids from the KAIST in 1994, and worked as a postdoctoral associate at U. of California at Davis in 1995-96. He was awarded the Visiting Scientist Fellowship from the DFG hosted by the Max-Planck Institute at Mainz in 1999.His research interests include aspects of the microfluidics/nanofluidics and complex fluids in close relation to either computations or experiment or both.Ongoing research projects of his Lab are also concerned with the application of fundamental issues to bio-MEMS such as micro-biochip.He has published about 50 papers in major journals and 10 patents.
