Dr. Kim has been a Principal Research Scientist with the Thermal/Flow Control Research Center, Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), since 1996 prior to which he was a Research Associate with the Rutgers University, NJ, USA. He is the director of the Innovative Cooling for Electronics (ICE) Laboratory in KIST. His research interests include the convective heat transfer in porous medium, the resonant heat transfer enhancement by acoustic excitation, the flat display thermal management, and IT-related electronics cooling design. He has published 55 technical papers in international journals and conference proceedings. He has 10 patents including Plate-Porous Fin Heat Exchanger, Foam Metal Heat Sink, Portable Air-conditioner, Resonant Cooling Device for Electronics and Acoustic Convection Apparatus.
